I began my working life at the age of 17, accumulating a very broad range of skills and experiences across a wide variety of industries. Like many of us do, I took my opportunities that came along out of necessity, rather than inspiration. It was a good many years later before the opportunity to pause and make a lifestyle change occurred. This sparked a realisation that my enjoyment for making art was where I really wanted to dedicate my working time and this is how you have found me here.

In Japan they call this your Ikigai. It is an expression for finding your place in life; doing the thing you are meant to do, meeting your own ambition and being in balance with what you are doing in the world. For me, the discovery of making my art and appreciating the interest and joy it brings to others has changed my life.

Being an artist is by no means the easy path to follow, so if you find yourself enjoying my style of art, then I can assure you that it comes from a genuine place.

I am a free spirit regarding my style of painting. My intention is to attract the attention of those of you who are enthusiastic about my work and not to appear as another brand building marketing business. My art is a personal human endeavour, of which I favour the experimental exploration of a naturally evolving process. Each blank canvas presents an opportunity for creative discovery. My paintings reflect my expressive process and how it evolves in each piece of work over time.

I may not know the outcome of a painting at the starting line, only that it will have a journey that will find an end and maybe a home for an appreciative eye or two.
